Sepoy

The 2011 Golden Slipper was won in fine fashion by Darley''s Sepoy, ridden by Kevin McEvoy.

Sepoy was heavily backed as the ground dried and started $2.40 favourite on NSW TAB. Trained by Peter Snowden, the son of Elusive Quality was always well placed and showed excellent acceleration to win well by 2 lengths from 100-1 shot filly Mosheen with Elite Falls in third. Shared Reflections was sixth and Satin Shoes was ninth. Smart Missile was withdrawn at the stalls but would have had to outperform to beat Sepoy on the day.

"This Slipper was a great advertisement for the richest two year old race in the World with a very good field, a fantastic day out and a high quality winner", added "Hyperion" (Robert Bishop), interviewed at Rosehill.
