Roses in May

The 2005 Dubai World Cup, sponsored by Emirates Airlines, was won by favourite Roses in May. Roses in May, trained by Dale Romans and ridden by John Velazquez, won convincingly by three lengths.

Roses in May was in fifth position early in the race as the field was taken along by the Mike de Kock trained Yard Arm. Roses in May came around the outside and took the lead in the straight and was not seriously challenged.

Dynever, trained by Christophe Clement and ridden by Jose Santos, came with a late run to take second place with the Jeff Mullins trained Choctaw Nation, under Victor Espinoza, third.

Jack Sullivan and Richard Mandella`s Congrats were fourth and fifth respectively.

Roses in May is owned by Ken Ramsey.
