Our New Recruit

Californian sprinter Our New Recruit (by Alphabet Soup) continued the American domination of the Dubai Golden Shaheen by winning its 2004 running by two and a half lengths from Alke, Conroy and favourite Cajun Beat, who won the Breeders Cup Sprint in 2003.

Ridden by Alex Solis, Our New Recruit, who was priced at 20-1 by English bookmakers, was always travelling well in the fast pace set by Alke and went ahead of Alke and Cajun Beat in a three way tussle before the line.

A comfortable winner, Our New Recruit is expected to return to Dubai to try to defend his Dubai Golden Shaheen title in 2005.
