Hong Kong Vase 2006

Eight year old British stayer Collier Hill won the 2006 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Vase, beating Kastoria by a nose.

Collier Hill had previously won the 2005 Irish St Leger and the 2006 Canadian International and had finished runner up in the 2006 Dubai Sheema Classic to Hearts Cry.

Collier Hill raced prominently and took over the lead with over 300m to go and just held on from fast finishing Kastoria.

Shamdala was third with Song Of Wind in fourth. The 2005 Vase winner Ouija Board had been withdrawn the day before the race

Collier Hill was trained by Alan Swinbank and ridden by Dean McKeown.
