Hong Kong Cup 2006

French mare Pride, by Arc winner Peintre Celebre, won the 2006 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup taking her winnings to HK$30 million. She had finished third in the 2005 Hong Kong Cup.

Pride had previously finished second to Rail Link in the 2006 Prix de l''Arc de Triomphe.

In the Hong Kong Cup, Pride, the favourite, beat fast finishing Admire Moon with Vengeance Of Rain, the Cup winner in 2005, in third place and Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Derby winner Viva Pataca in fourth. The field also included Alexander Goldrun.

Six year old Pride was trained by Alain Royer-Dupre and ridden by Christophe Lemaire.

Pride was retired after the race, as was Alexander Goldrun.
